10th ASEAPS Congress Returns to Singapore in 2025 – Empowering the Future of Pain Management Across Southeast Asia

The 10th Association of Southeast Asian Pain Societies (ASEAPS) Congress is set to take place from 2–4 May 2025 at the Singapore EXPO, bringing together over 500 healthcare professionals from across Southeast Asia and beyond. Hosted by the Pain Association of Singapore (PAS), with the support of its regional partners, this milestone event marks the return of the ASEAPS Congress to Singapore after more than a decade. This year’s theme, “From Pain to Empowerment,” underscores the Congress’ commitment to advancing multidisciplinary collaboration and innovation in pain management. Scientific Chairs Dr Poonam Pal and Dr Prit Anand Singh have curated a diverse and dynamic program aimed at doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals.

  • Yoga as Therapy in Chronic Pain Management
    – Explore holistic, mind-body approaches including mindfulness, breathwork, and movement to complement clinical pain interventions.
  • Essential Pain Management – Paediatrics (EPM Paeds)
    – Equip healthcare workers to assess, understand, and manage pain effectively in children, integrating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies.
  • Essential Pain Management – Instructor
    Prepare participants to deliver impactful pain education workshops using the EPM framework and andragogy principles.
  • Perioperative POCUS (p-POCUS)
    – Train anaesthetists and perioperative clinicians in bedside ultrasound applications for real-time clinical decision-making.
  • Refresher Day
    – Update and broaden core pain knowledge across diverse patient groups including pregnant individuals, the elderly, and those with cancer-related pain.
  • Thinking Beyond Muscles & Joints 2.0
    – Apply a lifestyle medicine framework to manage chronic musculoskeletal pain through individualized, multimodal interventions.
  • Cadaver Fluoroscopic & Ultrasound Guided Pain Intervention Workshop
    – Master advanced pain procedures using cadaver-based training and image-guided techniques for precision and safety. Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia Workshop Build confidence in ultrasound-guided blocks for surgical pain relief through intensive, hands-on scanning on live models.
  • Scientific Program
    – Plenaries, symposia, and three parallel tracks covering acute pain, chronic pain, allied health therapies, cancer pain, paediatric pain, nociplastic pain, research, and medico-legal topics.
  • Poster & Infographic Presentations
    – Opportunities for early-career professionals and students to showcase their work and compete for awards.
  • Industry Exhibition
    – Showcasing cutting-edge technology, medical devices, and the latest interventions in pain care. Since its inception in 2004, ASEAPS has been a driving force in promoting excellence in pain service provision, education, and research across Southeast Asia. The biennial congress serves as the region’s premier platform for professional development in pain medicine.
